In a significant breakthrough, the Ministry of Energy has successfully retrieved 2,637 containers belonging to the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), a development that has caught national attention due to its scale and implications.

According to Richmond Rockson, spokesperson for the Energy Ministry, the containers were discovered at the Port of Tema during a probe initiated to track 1,300 allegedly missing ECG containers. Interestingly, the number retrieved is twice the initial count of containers reported unaccounted for.

This revelation came to light in an exclusive interview with Daily Graphic, where Rockson stated that the Ministry's internal committee uncovered the full count of containers, complete with their contents.

The containers, reportedly filled with critical equipment and materials meant for the enhancement of electricity distribution across the country, had raised eyebrows when claims of their disappearance first emerged.

Energy Minister John Jinapor, who has taken a strong stance on accountability and transparency within the sector, is expected to address the public on further developments and actions to prevent such incidents in the future.
