The management of No. 1 Oxford Street Hotel in Osu, Accra, has refuted widespread reports claiming that the luxury property has been seized following a High Court order involving businessman Nana Kwame Bediako, popularly known as Cheddar, and his business partner Azad Cola. According to management, the hotel remains under its control and continues to operate normally while legal proceedings continue. 

In a statement issued after media reports circulated about a court-appointed Receiver taking possession of the property, the hotel's management clarified that no physical takeover had occurred. They explained that guests continue to be welcomed, staff remain at work, and all hotel services are operating without interruption. Management urged the public and patrons to disregard what it described as misleading reports suggesting that the hotel had already changed hands.

The statement follows a ruling by the Commercial Division of the High Court in Accra, which granted police assistance to a court-appointed Receiver seeking to enforce a security interest over the hotel in connection with an ongoing financial dispute between Cola Holdings Limited, owned by businessman Azad Cola, and Kensington Residential Partners 1 Limited (KRP1), the company associated with the hotel.

However, hotel management stressed that the legal process is far from over. According to the statement, an appeal has already been filed challenging aspects of the High Court's decision, and the matter remains before the courts. Management argued that until all legal processes have been exhausted, reports suggesting that the hotel has been seized are inaccurate and premature.

The dispute stems from a multimillion-dollar financing arrangement relating to the development of the luxury hotel. Cola Holdings claims it is entitled to enforce a registered security interest after allegedly settling outstanding financial obligations linked to the project. Cheddar and the hotel's management, however, dispute those claims and maintain that the matter should be resolved through the courts.

Management further reassured customers, business partners, and the general public that hotel operations have not been disrupted by the ongoing legal proceedings. They expressed confidence that the legal issues would be resolved through the judicial process and reaffirmed their commitment to delivering high-quality hospitality services while the case is pending.

Although the legal dispute surrounding No. 1 Oxford Street Hotel continues to attract significant public attention, the hotel's management insists that the property has not been seized and remains under its control. With appeals already filed and court proceedings ongoing, the final outcome of the case will depend on future judicial decisions. For now, management says guests can continue to use the hotel's facilities without interruption while the legal process runs its course.
